For the Salisbury Steaks:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs

- 1 tbsp oil for frying
For the Gravy:
- 1½ cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth

For the Garlic Mashed Potatoes:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- ½ cup milk or cream
- 3 tbsp butter

Instructions
Boil potatoes and garlic in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Set aside covered.
Mix ground beef with egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into oval patties.
Heat oil in a skillet and brown the patties on both sides. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until golden.
Sprinkle in flour and stir until blended, then slowly whisk in beef broth and soy sauce.
Simmer until thickened, return steaks to the pan, and let cook in the gravy for 10–15 minutes on low heat.
