Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef stew meat or sirloin tips, cut into chunks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 12 ounces egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the beef chunks in batches, browning them on all sides. Set browned beef aside.
In the same pan, add the diced onion and cook for about 3–4 minutes until soft. Add the minced garlic and cook another 30 seconds.
Return the beef to the pan. Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
Cover the pan, reduce heat to low, and cook for about 1.5 to 2 hours until the beef is tender. Stir occasionally and add a little extra broth if needed.
About 15 minutes before the beef is done, cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and toss them with the butter.
Once the beef is tender, stir the cornstarch and water mixture into the pot. Cook and stir for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve the beef tips and gravy over a bed of buttery noodles. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if you like!
