98-Year-Old Grandmother Poses with 6 Generations of Her Family

A Rare and Beautiful Moment: 98-Year-Old Grandmother Poses with 6 Generations of Her Family

In a heartwarming moment that’s capturing hearts across the internet, a 98-year-old woman from Kentucky posed for a photo surrounded by six generations of her family—all girls.

MaeDell Taylor Hawkins recently held her great-great-great-granddaughter, seven-month-old Zhavia Whitaker, for the very first time. The touching photo, taken by her granddaughter Sheryl Blessing, quickly went viral after being shared on Facebook.

What makes this moment even more special is that all six generations of women were together in one room. The photo includes MaeDell, her daughter Frances Snow, granddaughter Gracie Snow Howell, great-granddaughter Jacqueline Ledford, great-great-granddaughter Jaisline Wilson, and little Zhavia, the newest member of the family.

MaeDell’s life has been full of love, strength, and resilience. She married in 1940 at just 16 years old to a 50-year-old railroad worker who already had 10 children. Despite the challenges, the couple went on to have 13 more children together. Their home didn’t have a washing machine, dryer, or even running water—but MaeDell never complained. Her family says she faced everything with quiet strength and deep love.

Today, her legacy lives on through an extraordinary number of descendants: 106 grandchildren, 222 great-grandchildren, 234 great-great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-great-grandchildren. That’s more than 600 family members who call her Grandma MaeDell.

“We thought this was special because it’s all girls,” Gracie said in an interview. “If everything goes well, we’re all planning to meet again in June for another picture.”

This beautiful gathering is more than just a photo—it’s a reminder of the power of love, family, and the generations that come from one strong woman’s journey.
